## Learn A complete sentence needs a subject and a finite verb. A run-on joins complete ideas without clear punctuation or a connector.
### Examples 1. Fragment: Because the library was closed. Complete: Because the library was closed, we studied at home. 2. Run-on: I revised late I missed the last bus. Repair: I revised late, so I missed the last bus. 3. Complete: The tutor explained the method clearly.
### Common mistake Do not join two full sentences with only a comma; use a full stop, semicolon, or a connector.
