## Learn Active voice focuses on the doer. Passive voice focuses on what receives the action, especially when the doer is unknown or less important.
### Examples 1. Students designed the poster. 2. The poster was designed by students. 3. The road was closed because of flooding.
### Common mistake A passive verb needs a form of be and a past participle: was designed, not was design.
